The content follows the Worship Circle's commitment to plagiarize the Psalms, but her mix of melancholy personal journey and soaring vision of God as Father of a family is an especially stirring combination.

This album features the songs and performance of:
Karla Adolphe is our featured artist! She is a uniquely powerful talent from Winnipeg, Canada and is the featured artist on this Chair and Microphone, Vol. 3. While Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 featured Ben Pasley and Aaron Strumpel, respectively, and their own guitar styles, this album takes a decidedly different turn with a powerhouse female lead who plays both guitars and piano in this much awaited third album in the series. Karla is married to Gary Adolphe and live, along with their dog, Sam, in Winnipeg, Canada, but tour much of the year in a 36' long Bounder RV with Caleb Friesen and appear as renowned folk act: Jacob and Lily. Karla does appear as a soloist and will, even more, with the release of this album find her niche among Worship Circle fans and the uninitiated who simply love great music! Enjoy Chair and Microphone, Vol. 3.

Aaron was part of The Restoration Project a band featured in the "More Music" category of our online store for several years, but just recently has struck out on his own as writer and performer.

This album features the songs and performance of: The song on track 5 was cooked up at the close of the recording session, and the passion of the moment is so clear even the microphone seems to stress with the emotion. The whole album was tracked at the Bear Trap Ranch high in the mountains near Colorado Springs. It's amazing that at 9,100 feet above sea level Aaron could get enough air to do this amazing work...because there really is no oxygen there at all (according to Keith "Kazoo Dawg" at the Bear Trap)... Thanks, Keith, and the Bear Trap staff for making the experience so perfect for us...as always! |

After a season of tribal, full band, full stage concert and production Ben was ready for something completely different: enter the first volume of Chair and Microphone. This series is formed from the same clay that molded First, Second, and Third Circle but the musical environment is different...reduced...minimal.
We have a great admiration for songwriters who can hold our imagination just with words and images--without the help of a full band. Chair and Microphone is an album full of raw conversations with God, shot from the Psalms, but with only a solo voice and one guitar...one take...one time to record it...everything from that one moment is here...

This album features the songs and performance of: When you listen to track 2 and 9 you can hear the greasy southern food coming right through the microphone... Track 10 was so spontaneous that Ben can't remember anything he played on the guitar that day, that's why there is no chord chart. Ben says that track 6 is the song that makes the world go 'round. |
