What are we going to do to you?
We are going to invite you to a beautiful high country town in the mountains of Colorado where a maximum of 45 pioneering artists, musicians, and creative missionaries are gathering to share their dreams, joys, and need for one another until it hurts. It will hurt so good. Robin and I have been encouraging artists and equipping pioneering leaders since the early nineties, and lately our tools to equip have gotten noticeably bigger and badder, and our team of co-leaders are actual super heroes. This year Gary and Karla Adolphe will be our co-hosts, but expect to meet many other Worship Circle partners. This is a by-invitation-only retreat and you are wanted. We want to be your personal trainers for ministry fitness for just one weekend this year...think of it as a health retreat for your soul. Are you worth it? We think so.

Topics we may touch:
Understanding our role as sons and how it affects our work and our rest Discerning the traditions of men from the Church. What is the Kingdom? Where does money come from? Using the internet as our slave, and not the other way around Establishing healthy connections to leadership and pastoral care Developing a written mission statement and plan for productivity Writing and creating worship, and/or ministry expressions The difference between building the Church and trying to plant one

Bring/Don’t Bring:
Bring warm layered winter clothes and hiking shoes. Bring chapstick and lotion. Bring your Bible, your laptop, pen, and journal. Please do not bring your phone or PDA to the retreat and avoid ringing, texting, and twittering at all costs. No wireless will be provided at the retreat location. Bring crazy money for around town stuff and espresso drinks. Do not bring your products or pamphlets for selling yourself--we already want you. Do bring your contact info to share. Wear good socks--you may have to take your shoes off inside.

Application and Reservations
Fill this out and send it in with your supporting materials and non-refundable reservation fee of $50 per person by December 11, 2009. You may fax, mail, or email the PDF (no unformatted text files please.) Retreat balance due on arrival. Use extra paper as needed.

Who invited you to The January Gathering and how do you know them? Who are they to you...what kind of relationship do you have with them? What kind of relationship would you like to have with them?

How long have you been pursuing your present work as a pioneering artist, missionary, Church builder, and is it vocational for you? If so, describe how that works. If not, describe how that works.

What is your primary ministry/creative work? Or, what is ministry strength? What message do you carry within you that comes out no matter what you are doing?

Who pastors you or watches over your journey like a loving parent, or a caring gardener to see you live and love well? Describe this part of your journey.

If you are a working artist of any kind could you please supply a demo/resume/portfolio for us to get to know you better? No matter what you are doing could you also supply some kind of similar materials whether newsletters, websites, or references?

These can be attached in hard copy or on a disc when you mail this application in.

We need money to conduct this retreat.
$150 total, per person. The per attendee fee breaks down like this: food and beverages, teaching materials, facility expenses, and some payment to our primary retreat leaders: Ben and Robin Pasley, and Gary and Karla Adolphe, and any guest professionals. Lodging is "on your own." We will provide a list of recommended hotels and lodging with discounts in our city for you to book. If you ask, we will work with you on providing a local family to stay with. If you stay in a host home please donate $10 per person per night to your hosts as a thank you gift. We encourage you to bring generous offerings to bless leaders and equippers that you may receive encouragement from at the retreat. Make deposit payment by check or with Paypal/Credit Card at our online payment portal.
